- How do I calculate hours between two times?
- Subtract the start time from the end time, then subtract any unpaid break. This tool does it for you and shows the result in both hours:minutes and decimal hours.
- Does it handle shifts that cross midnight?
- Yes. If the end time is earlier than the start time, the shift is treated as running overnight (+24h) rather than as a negative duration.
- What if my break is longer than the shift?
- The worked time is clamped to zero and flagged, so you never get a negative result — a sign the break or the times need a second look.
