Payroll export

Payroll export is the process of moving recorded work hours out of a time-tracking system into payroll or accounting software so people can be paid accurately.

In context

A time-tracking tool is only useful if its hours reach payroll without manual re-keying. Exports commonly take the form of CSV files, REST API calls, or webhooks that push data to another system. The cleaner and more neutral the export, the less an organisation is locked into one vendor. Open formats and standard connectors let the same hours feed payroll, invoicing, and accounting.
